I’ve Eaten Every Kind

My friend Pat Ford approached me after one of our Aspiration jams and suggested that i write a song about all the varieties of apples grown at the Historic Orchard at Altapass.  I told her that if she gathered a list of all the varieties, i’d see what i could do.  At the time, someone else suggested that i could use the melody for “I’ve Been Everywhere”, the song written by Australian Geoff Mack, and made famous by Hank Snow, and later, Johnny Cash.

Well, Pat gave me the list the next week, and i put together the lyrics over the following week.  After a few weeks of practice singing it, i performed it at the Dispensary on June 13.
