It Ain’t You, Sir

This is my seventh parodylan, based on the song “It Ain’t Me, Babe”.  It will have its official debut at our 7th Annual BobFest, coming up in May 2020. Still another inspired by my disgust for our current president. I’m reasonably happy with how the lyrics turned out, though because of the range, i’ve been singing it in B flat, which (in order to simplify my chord sequence) has caused me to tune one of my guitars down a full step. I can avoid doing that by capoing a standardly-tuned guitar at the 3rd fret and playing it using key-of-G-shaped chords. I’ll have to get better at playing Bm, though.  (That certainly wouldn’t be a bad thing.)

P.S.  I did indeed sing it for BobFest, though because of the pandemic, BobFest was virtual in 2020.  I also plan to sing it for our virtual Political Songs themed music fest, coming in October 2020.

P.S.  I’ve updated the song for the 2024 election.  You can see the revised lyrics at the appropriate link below.  I haven’t yet changed the audio, though.
