This is a song about our cats, or rather, three of the cats for whom i have had a special fondness. Jane had Moustache (pronounced in the French way) when we got married; she was a kitten of one of her family’s cats, born on St. Patrick’s Day. Mous preferred males, and spent most of her “kittying” time with me. Kaboodle was a birthday gift for me, to replace Mous after she died. We selected her from a Boston animal shelter. DJ was a “found” kitten, and was about as perfect a pet as one can get, as well as being physically gorgeous. We suspect that he was gay, judging from his behavior around a male welfare cat that lived in our neighborhood, and the fact that he let a younger male that Jane later adopted “nurse”.
